Just before May half term, the Eco Council went to Wyevale Garden Centre to buy new plants for the school. Armed with a generous 30% discount (kindly organised by Elodie Porter – Mathilde’s mum) and funds kindly given to them by the School Association, the children enjoyed buying a range of plants to improve our school environment. We needed to find different coloured plants for ‘house’ hanging baskets, in addition to plants to replenish a number of pots and containers around the school grounds.
The Eco Council, with some other willing pupil volunteers, then helped clear the old containers and re-plant them ready for the summer. With the warmer weather, and some helpful rain, our school is starting to look blooming lovely! We would like to say a thank you to Mrs Linfoot, Mr Craven and Helen Marchetti who helped with the project. |
