On the 9th May, the Eco Council went to on their annual visit to Wyevale Garden Centre to buy new plants for the school. Armed with a generous discount (kindly organised by Emily Fuller's aunt) and funds kindly given to them by the School Association, the children enjoyed buying a range of plants to improve our school environment. We had to get a variety of plants, ones for the house colours, herbs and some for the containers around the school.
The Eco Council, with some other willing pupil volunteers, then helped clear the old containers and re-plant them ready for the summer. With the warmer weather, and some helpful rain, our school should be looking blooming lovely soon!
We would like to say a big thank you to Helen Marchetti and Mrs Horner (Mr Horner's Mum!), who helped with the project.
We are again grateful to Vanessa (Lewis' Mum) at E P Barrus for organising another generous donation for the Eco Council. Having donated a large number of garden tools last year, they have provided us with a selection of gardening gloves for the children to use in school when maintaining our baskets, containers and borders.
