Just like our previous two events, it was a beautiful autumnal day on the 7th October 2020 as Chesterton held its third Race For Life in support of Cancer Research. The runners, complete with personal messages pinned to their backs, were out in force in each of the three 'bubbles' and put in a huge amount of effort towards the goal of 20 laps around the school field. Many Maple Class pupils completed the whole 5 kilometres, which was an incredible effort, and lots of intrepid older runners set themselves targets of way beyond 30 laps! Thank you to Mrs Rotherham for organising and Tesco, who supplied us with oranges. We all had a fantastic time and are looking forward to seeing the final total raised for such a fantastic cause. At last count it had already exceeded £4000, which is an incredible total!

UPDATE 21st Oct:
Chesterton pupils have raised nearly £4,500.00 for Cancer Research by running the Race for Life!
We would like to thank you and say a big well done to all the children for taking part and trying their best. This is a magnificent achievement, which surpasses even the first year's amount raised in 2018!
A big thank you should also go to Mrs Rotherham for organising the event and all the staff who worked to make this event so successful, despite the current challenging environment.
