Women's FA Cup Final
A group of 51 children, parents and staff enjoyed an exciting day out at Wembley Stadium to watch the Women's FA Cup Final. Before the game, we enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere around the stadium, which looked especially glorious in the beautiful May sunshine. In the game itself, Manchester United and Tottenham battled it out to have their name on a major women's trophy for the first time. I (Mr Horner) am pleased to say that, after a cagey opening half, Ella Toone broke the deadlock with a stunning 25-yard strike to put United 1-0 up. This swung the momentum in the Reds' favour and the floodgates then opened ten minutes into the second half, as goals in quick succession from Lucia Garcia (2) and Rachel Williams completed a thumping 4-0 victory. A great day out was had by all and, hopefully, our enthusiastic band of girls' footballers were inspired by what they saw.
