School Association: About
Objective
The objective of the School Association is to assist the school in advancing the education of pupils. It achieves this by:
a. Providing funds to purchase or assist in the purchasing of facilities, items or services that benefit the school which can't be provided by statutory funds.
b. Supporting school activities.
c. Helping develop stronger relationships between the school, its staff and parents.
d. Organising events that allow pupils to meet socially out of school time.
Recent examples of how the money has been used include:
- New interactive panels in Maple and Oak Class.
- A fantastic new playhouse for our Reception children.
- Subsidising a number of educational visits.
- Providing the Eco Council with funds to improve the outside environment.
- Buying trophies and medals for the Sports Personality of the Year awards.
Membership
All parents and guardians of pupils attending school are members of the School Association.
Meetings
School Association meetings occur every month or so during term time. As members all parents are entitled and are welcome to attend the meetings which are held at the school. Meeting minutes are distributed to all parents within a week on a "subject to approval" basis and are displayed on the notice board inside the entrance to the school hall.
